A Change of Heart
Jodi Picoult has a way of writing that draws a reader in.
I started her new book (it finally came in at the library).
It's a rare thing for me to read a book in one day,
but that is what happened.
It's a very good book.
I recommend it.
If you have never read Jodi....
I recommend starting with My Sister's Keeper....
especially since this movie is in the works. That is my favorite book of all time!
My Joy
Seth is home from Georgia.
His trip to Africa was life changing.
He has two weeks at home, and then is heading back to Georgia for....well, he lives there now.
WOW!
Hard to write that.
The opportunities for me to get a picture of my three kids together doesn't happen very often.
Pure summer smiles.
Shared love.

Chloe's Braces Gone
Yesterday they came OFF!!
Look at the girl's LOVELY teeth!!!
They even gave her a bottle of sparkling cider and balloons!
She looks so happy to have them off.
She can't get over how weird her mouth feels with the braces off!

Drew Carey Says It
Contestant is playing Lucky Seven game on The Price is Right.
Drew gives the contestant seven one dollar bills. The contestant begins to guess the price of the car by guessing numbers. For each dollar they are off, they have to give Drew a dollar back. The contestant has to have one dollar left at the end of the game to buy the car.
Today I am watching TPIR with all the kids.
The young guy who is slated to win the Yellow Mustang Convertible is given his seven one dollar bills by Drew.
He says to Drew: Why don't I just give you all the seven dollars back, and you give me the car.
Drew says: This game isn't called The Price is Easy!
Skillet - Rebirth

Pool Patch
We were totally bummed out to find out that we had a hole in the liner of our pool.
We had somebody come out last Thursday to fix the hole in the side of the pool.
Imagine how RIDICULOUS the guys thought I was as I stood out there recording them working on the patch.
I am proud to be a blogging dork.

Cross Children
It has been our pleasure to watch our friends kids over night.
Mike and Jolyne went on a motorcycle trip to the North Shore.
So, we took Kennedy, Miranda and Victoria. (Quentin was too cool to come over...) (-:
SO, everybody has gotten along famously...
today, the kids packed a picnic lunch and took off for the local park.
They all packed the same thing:
pbj sandwich, watermelon, chips and two cookies.
I made them stand a pose for a picture.

Camping
We survived our first camping trip together.
We went to Frontenac State Park just outside of Red Wing, MN.
Besides the Friday night storm, and the horrible night sleep in the Aztek (DON'T ASK!), we salvaged the trip by a run to Target. After a new tent and a second air mattress, we were ready to begin again.
We had a great time with our friends Brenda and Tracey!
They were caretakers to us....so we pretty much just let them do that. (-:
We had so much fun that we plan on going one more time if we can squeeze it in this summer.
Also,
Seth is safely back in Atlanta after his month long trip to Africa.
CANNOT WAIT FOR HIM TO GET HOME TO MINNESOTA!!!

4th of July
I know, I know...it's after the 4th of July...but I wanted to put a post on here based on something funny that happened in our pool.
The participants are Isaiah, Luke, Ryan and Terry. (Jennifer's beau)
They decided to do the chicken dance.
It was cute, and I promised them I would put it on my blog.
SO, here it is.
(along with a few dives!)

SBC
Last night, our SBC met at my house.
We had some great storytelling, hilarious laughs, and even talked about the book a little bit.
We are happy to welcome Becky into our book club. It's pretty hard to get into this group, so good job Becky at passing the rigorous process to become a member of the SBC!
Congratulations to Kerry finishing up her last class today....on her way to receiving her Reading Specialist license. Way to go Kerry. Now she can start reading the book club books again.
NOW, it's MY turn to opt out of reading the books....as I am going to school.
This too shall pass.
It was great having you ladies over last night.
You all are great friends!

Getting Ready for the 4th!
Staying up late tonight trying to get baking done for the 4th of July tomorrow.
We have a big day planned for tomorrow.
We have to go pick up Luke at 8 from his dad's house. On to Angela's parents house to pile in the camper...(little mini Winnebago type thing). We will be driving out to Delano where Ryan and Isaiah are marching in a parade. Apparently the Delano parade is very big.
Then, back home to get ready for all of Angela's family to come down for a barbecue and swimming.
We will wrap up the day with fireworks at the elementary school right down the street.
Chloe left today for Waterville. She went with her friend, Rachel, to their cabin. She was very much looking forward to it.
How weird to not spend the 4th of July with Seth. He won't even be CELEBRATING the 4th of July, as he is in Swaziland.
I'll have pictures from the 4th on the next blog post.

Swaziland,
Here was his last post from Swaziland...I wanted you to hear what he is doing and seeing:
I have so much to tell you and so little time! I am sitting in an internet cafe which is pretty cool, but the internet is very slow and not sure how I feel about everyone looking at my computer screen :-) Now on to what the team has been up to; One of our biggest ministries that we do is our Homestead ministries. It is when we head up the mountain and just build relationships with the people who live up there. My team goes all the way up the mountain and have been really blessed by the people we have met. The famly that really means a lot to our team are the ones who live close to the top. They have 30 people who live on one homestead. They asked us if we wanted to climb the mountain and help them carry fire wood back down for them. We jumped on the opportunity and woke up early to help them. They were so happy to see us that after we helped them, they took us on a tour of the wildlife reserve and we saw some monkeys. When we arrived back at their home, very tired and sweaty, they invited us to eat dinner with them. It was definitley an interesting meal, but I ate all of it. As if that wasn't enough, they gave me the Swazi name Sabejlo, which mean Chosen One. So now everyone I meet yells "Sabejlo!" (Word travels fast in the neighborhood when you are the only Americans haha) I am loving every second of being here and God is revealing more and more about Himself everyday! The team is really coming together as well. We went to the Mbabne Hospital today and visited the children's ward which totally broke my heart. They say that that is the hospital where people go to die and to see all of these children, some of them disabled and abandoned, makes me wish I could do more. We shared the hope of Christ with them and prayed for healing. Please keep the team and the people in Swazi in your prayers. They are beautiful people and have accepted me as one of their own in only 2 weeks. Thank you for your prayers so far and for the encouraging comments! Love you and miss you all so much!
