Tim Russert

What a beautiful shot.
The world was shocked to find out Tim Russert had passed away on Friday. I watched many of the tribute shows that NBC put out over the weekend.
The number one thing that I took away from it all was the sincere, wonderful things that people said about him. The thing resounding over and over was that Tim loved his family.
I can't remember who it was, but somebody said that the things we hear about Tim....all the wonderful things, were ALL TRUE. It got me thinking about the legacy a person leaves behind.
Will people say that I loved my family more than anything? Will they say how much my close friends meant to me? Will they say that I loved my Lord, and though I had my struggles, I wanted to be all that HE wanted me to be?
I wonder what people will say about me. I wonder what sort of legacy I will leave.
I want to make a difference.
I want my children to know how important they are to me.
I want to do this while I am ALIVE, so that I will impact those people I come in contact with in my life.

It's Official

It is official, I am going back to school.
I am enrolled at Hamline University in St. Paul.
I am going to get my Reading Specialist K-12. I must be a glutton for punishment, because I just keep GOING BACK TO SCHOOL!!
I am actually VERY excited about this because I am on FIRE about literacy!
I have seen such AMAZING things in my own students since I have starting doing the Reading Workshop in my class. I hope to be able to become a reading specialist in a Farmington school.
I am uncertain what my options will be, but I am excited about the possibilities!

Shawn and Madi

A few months ago, an old Hillcrest friend of mine
had a baby....her first....at 40!!
We were all so excited for Shawn, and so thankful
that it wasn't US!
She just sent out pictures of her angel.
Isn't she just precious...and Shawn looks GOOD!!

Little Girls

This picture reminds me of my cousins!

Kim, Karin, Cindy, Diane and I all graduated the same year!

These were the gals I went to California with last summer!

Considering two of them live in Colorado, one in New Jersey, and

one SOON to be living in South Carolina, it is amazing how close we are!

We pick up right where we left off.

Oh, and the fun times we have when we are together!

Ladies, I love each of you very much!

I am SO GLAD that we are family!

Monday

Loving a Monday morning that doesn't entail me getting
up to go to work. (-:
I did get up and go for my run.
(I am doing that From the Couch to a 5K deal)
(Check out the link from my site.)
I must just tell you that I was able
to jog ( I use that term loosely) for 20 minutes without walking.
ME....
can you believe it?
I can't either.
Chloe started her nanny job today next door....
I am waiting....as I have been since Thursday, for the pool
guy to come and restart our heater.
The pool is FREEZING!!!
But...it looks good.
(NO CONSOLATION FOR LUKE!)
Chloe was out of town all weekend with her friend, Rachel.
Luke was IN town at the Apple Valley tournament.
Which means I did a lot of running.

Schools Out For Summer

Today is the last day of school.
We were supposed to go to Valleyfair. (local amusement park)
BUT...weather was a little iffy last night....they were predicting
hail, tornadoes, lightning, etc., so the trip was cancelled.
SO...now instead of hanging out with my work friends at Valleyfair,
I am entertaining kiddies all day today.
It's surprising how many kids came to school today.
SO...we are filling the day with activities.
BUT, at 2:30 today
MY SUMMER OFFICIALLY BEGINS!!!

Sign O The Times

Is this a sign of our economy?
I just received a gas card for an end of year gift

from one of my students.
How funny:
No Caribou
No Starbucks
No Panera
No Barnes and Noble as in years past.
Too funny....
and honestly.......
with the price of gas, I am TOTALLY pumped!

Scrubs 'What's Up Doc'

This is in honor of Seth. All of my children love this show.
I don't quite get it, but I think this UP DOC video is funny!
