Seth's Trip

Seth and his team took off last night
at 11:00 PM or so.
They decided it would be fun to drive all night
and then have time to sightsee at the
National Park they are camping in tonight.
Thier destination is Brownsville, TX.
Then they will be crossing in to Mexico tomorrow.
They will be staying at the same location
where Seth took his first missions trip in 9th grade.
Crazy!
He is very excited about this trip!

McKenna

I have had a link on this blog for a while that linked to a
Caring Bridge site for a little girl I have never met.
I heard about her through a friend of mine, Julie Hirman.
Today I received the sad news that she passed away
She was an adorable little girl.
Check out the parents last, hearbreaking entry.
I cannot even imagine their grief and loss.
I am so thankful that my story with Seth ended

SO VERY DIFFERENTLY!!!

Math to Dinner

Chloe received extra credit in math if she brought her math book to Thanksgiving Dinner!
Pretty funny picture I think.
In the foreground is her uncle Jerry. (Jon's sister's husband)
Amanda is next to Chloe. She is Seth's age. Here dad is Jerry.
We aren't sure what Luke is looking at.
Their food sure looks good though.

Our Day

Today we went out to Minnetonka.
We went and saw that Extreme Makeover home.
Look for it tomorrow night on ABC

After that we went to Redstone in Minnetonka
by Ridgedale. It was my brothers suggestion.

After lunch we went to Ridgedale and did some shopping.
While we were at the mall we ran into my sister in law,
Doreen, and my niece KD!
She was wearing her new HEELIES!
She was very excited.

We are now going to go see Gone, Baby Gone
We have had a great day.

The 80's Girl

This makes me laugh.
Angela is actually wearing this shirt.
She said she is wearing it to make me laugh...
but truthfully....she really just likes it.

Black Friday

After realizing that I would NOT be one of the first twenty people to get the laptop from Best Buy, we decided to NOT get up in the middle of the night.
On our way home from Angela's parents
we saw people already lined up outside Best Buy.
I am so sure.
We live in MINNESOTA for cats sake.
SO, we went out at 7:00 AM instead.
We had a fun time.
A few laughs.
Some serious conversations
All in all a great day.
We arrived home at 2:30 with a van fully loaded.
Only to discover that whatI bought Luke,
his dad had already bought him.
GREAT!
Now...back to the drawing board.

We have no kids this weekend.
SO...we are all about indulging ourselves.
We can do whatever we want.
Thinking of a movie
We might go check out the Home Makeover house today in Minnetonka.
It airs on Sunday.
(The house is by where I grew up.)
(IN FACT...my dear friend Lisa Martin, who I lost touch with,
lived RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET!!)
I wish I could find her again.
Does anybody have advice to find lost friends?

OK
Enough rambling.
Off for more adventures today.

PLUS...
Angela is wearing a funny shirt.
I will post it later.

Thanksgiving

We woke up this morning to fresh snow on the ground.

We spent the day at Angela's parents house.
There were 14 of us.

We had great fun, wonderful fellowship, good laughs and excellent music.

It was a delightful day enjoyed by all!

Seth had a nice Thanksgiving in Georgia.
He spent the day with Dave and Vicki Gross and their boys.
Dave and Vicki are Ashley's aunt and uncle.
They work for AIM.
Ashley's mom was there as was her sister, Molly!
Ash...the snow picture is for you.

Chloe and Luke went to Fargo this Thanksgiving
to be with Jon and his family.
I certainly missed my own children, but am comforted
to know that they spent this day
surrounded by people who love them.

We have so many things to be thankful for!
I am extremely thankful for many things.
One thing I am especially thankful for this year
was to spend this holdiay with Angela.
The first one we have ever spend together!!

Karaoke

Last Saturday night Chloe wanted us to pull out the Karaoke stuff
We finally relented and told her yes.
We sat for hours and sang.
Luke gave up the ghost first
Angela wanted to quit next
but Chloe and I kept saying
JUST ONE MORE SONG!
We had to get through all the Manilow songs.

Last Week

Last week Ashley and Seth were in town.

The time just flew by.

We just enjoyed our time together
On Wednesday night we went to Buca for dinner.
We had a nice time, and enjoyed the enormous amounts of food!
We dropped the younger four and youth group.
Then the four of us (Angela, Seth, Ashley and I) came home and had some great conversation.

On Thursday my parents took Seth and Ashley to the airport to fly back to Georgia. Seth won't be home until Christmas. I am not sure when Ashley will be back to see us.

Hunting!

First of all....
My kids went hunting in Erskine, MN the weekend before this last one.
It was quite successful for them.
Jon got two, Seth got one, and Luke got his FIRST one ever.
Very exciting!!!
There are pictures that Seth gave me. I don't know what happened to the pictures of the deer HE got!
Look how excited Luke is.
Hope it doesn't gross you guys out too much!!! (My PETA friends!) (-:

The Weekend

We had a fun weekend.
Ashley, Ryan, Isaiah and I went to Red Robin for dinner on Friday night.
We celebrated Ashley's birthday for fun. I know her birthday isn't until December 15th, but she won't be around for her birthday.

We also went to the new Cub and got a movie out of the Redbox.
We had too much fun there. People might have thought we were a bit bizarre!

While we were there, my old friend, Michelle, tapped me on the shoulder, and said HI!!
SO, I took a picture with her. How fun to have a camera with for such an occasion.

Then, yesterday, we slept in, did some yard work, and had a big fire.

Kept the neighbor kids busy.

Then last night, we went to the Richfield High School play "To Kill a Mockingbird."
Angela's niece, Sarah, was in it.
Afterwards, we went to the DQ with John and Kathy for a little snack.

That about sums up the weekend.
Waiting for complete stories on my own children.
They are home from hunting.
I will see them tomorrow.

They Are Here

Seth and Ashley got here this morning.
Seth has already taken off for Erskin, MN with his dad and younger siblings.
Ashley, Angela and I went out to Ruby Tuesday for dinner.
When we were there the waitress
took off one complete meal because she felt bad about
not filling up our sodas quick enough.
It was weird. We didn't complain though..
I mean it was $11 dollars.
We went to Kohl's after dinner.
I had $10 in free money to spend.
SO, I bought a long sleeve t-shirt.
It cost me $2 out of pocket.

Can I tell you how thankful I am that
tomorrow is Friday!!

How Exciting

Today is the day that Seth comes home.
I am off to pick him up from the airport.
I have an appointment this morning, and then
will be picking he and Ashley up from the airport.

Jon is taking the kids hunting this weekend.
SO, Ashley is going to stay with us over the weekend.

I haven't seen Seth since the beginning of September.
I am very pumped to see him.

Then, I am going to work for a half day.
No sugar hangover here.
